The Boo Bash

This year the St. Robert Boo Bash was hosted by my class, the 8th grade class of 2014. It was a great night full of games, spooks, food and fun, of course! It went for two and a half hours, a time that seemed to go by as quickly as a minute. In that time, many fun things were happening such as the haunted house, fortune teller, costume contest and much more.

One of the attractions at the Boo Bash was the ever-famous haunted house. It was equipped with frights, scares, and the theme of “Shorewood: Fifty Years In The Future.” It was a freaky thing to think about whether it would be the same or much, much different like the haunted house depicted with scary sights around the corners, a haunted, torn-up City Market, and the walking dead creeping out of old coffins to terrorize the likes of people such as you and me. I certainly hope it doesn’t turn out like that. Anyway, it was a great and scary production of the futuristic Shorewood.

Another attraction at the Boo Bash was the all-new fortune teller. With it right next to the line of the Haunted House, many of the waiters took a stop in this future-predicting attraction. With a gypsy and a man in Arabian clothes, you felt like you were in 19th century Europe. With fortunes as new as that you’ll meet One Direction (maybe you will) or as classic as you’ll have many friends when you need them, it was a great experience. And to top all of that, you got a fortune cookie to incorporate the Chinese culture. You could have a great experience in this inaugural attraction.

Lastly, a classic game was the cake walk. In the cake walk, you choose a spot and while the music plays, you walk clockwise. Once the music stops, you stop, and the wheel of your fortune spins. If it lands on the number you are on, you get a whole cake. A whole cake! It’s a high-risk, high-reward game. It costs 4 tickets ($2.00) and if you lose, you lose it all.You have a 1 in 10 chance of winning. The other side of the high-risk, high-reward game was that if you win, you can get a cake. It can be a very addicting game, if you love cake.

The Boo Bash this year was filled with everything you’d expect from a halloween party; costumes, candy and much more. I hope you all had the same fun as I had.
