2014 St. Robert Track and Field Team
Outside, the cold air on your face. Running full speed. Zoning everything out. Just you and the finish line. Giving everything you’ve got to come in first.
The St. Robert track and field team had its first meet a few weeks ago. The team is coached by Mr. Curtis, Ms. Meyer, Mrs. Reitman and Adi Giwa. The team is composed of 5th through 8th graders. The competitions our school participated in were the 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, 800 meter, 1600 meter (mile), long jump, discus and shot put. Many of the kids participated in relays with their friends. Students from many different schools were there. The schools there were Lumen Christi, St. Francis Borgia, Holy Family, Waukesha Track and Field team and St. Eugene. “As our athletes learn about the different track and field events, they become more eager to get better. Seeing that motivation grow is pretty cool, especially as they start to become really good in their events,” said Ms. Meyer about the track team’s performance.
St. Robert had a very good showing of participants. Everyone tried their best and represented our school very well. All in all, St. Robert has a great track team and the season has been lots of fun.
