Just a few weeks ago, Zach Bryan—a country singer and songwriter from Oklahoma— came to Milwaukee on his Quittin’ Time Tour. In August of 2023 Bryan announced that he was going on a North American tour, starting in March of 2024 in Chicago, Illinois and ending in December of 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He made his stop in Milwaukee on March 20th just after headlining at Summerfest last summer.
A handful of St. Robert students did attend this exciting concert. Eilee, an 8th grader, comments on her experience at the concert saying, “The concert music of Zach Byan really resonated with me because he works … hard to make music that … everyone can relate to and even though his music is a bit sad, the concert experience is super fun and it’s just so awesome to be there.” His heartfelt lyrics relate to many as he talks about love, empathy, friendship, heartbreak, and loss. Even with deeper meaning to a majority of his songs, the overall experience of the concert was energetic, creating a fun-filled environment.
Katherine, another devoted fan and St. Robert 8th grader, speaks about her time at the concert: “Well, I thought the Zach Bryan concert was really fun, and I really enjoyed all the music. I didn’t know all the words, but still I just thought it was a great experience and everyone there was so nice and respectful and had great concert etiquette.” At a concert it is very important to remember that it is a shared experience. People need to be respectful and aware of the people around them. Katherine and many others highlighted how kind everybody in their section was. Especially how nobody was screaming loudly or dancing around too much.
Katherine also attended the concert without her parents, just she and her little sister Kennedy attended. She noted, “we did go by ourselves but we did know that there [were] many trusted adults there, like a bunch of my friends’ parents. Overall with having [my parents’] phone numbers and being able to call for help if I needed to, we both felt very secure and safe throughout the entire concert and just had a blast.” Katherine goes on to say how she was able to meet up with her friends as she knew the Fiserv Forum—the concert venue— very well. She didn’t get lost and was able to safely get home at the end of the show.
With just 9 months left of this amazing tour, it isn’t too late to grab tickets in nearby states like Minnesota and Ohio. The concert was a very enjoyable experience and so many people are very eager to go as almost all of the upcoming shows are completely sold out. Bryan’s music touches the hearts of many as he also has an amazing stage presence. It is not something you want to miss!
