The St. Robert 7th grade boys basketball team is an athletic, hardworking team that practices really hard. The team has two amazing coaches who help them practice hard: Coach Brechja and Coach Zopler. These two coaches help the 7th grade team become more competitive and communicative as a team. The boys basketball team welcomed Tamu and Emmet this season, and they have been working to become stronger together. Coach Zopler has been coaching boys basketball since his oldest son was a fourth grader at St. Robert, and Coach Berchja joined shortly after that. 

The team is going above and beyond to push themselves, so they can win games and become more of a team. The team is made up of 10 players: Emmet, Jake, Henry, Tamu, Cam, Oliver, William, Bhima, Jackson, and Teddy. Emmet, Jake, and Jackson play positions 2 and 3 which they call wings, and Henry and Tamu play positions 4 and 5 which they call bigs. Oliver, Brandon, William, Bhima, and Teddy play anywhere from 1 to 5. The team has played four games, and they won two and lost two. They have been pushing themselves so they can win more games. 

The warm ups they do are suicides (ladders), layup lines, three on two, two on one, running, shell drill, bull in the ring, DKS, and V cut. Shell drill is when the team goes around in a circle in the paint, passing the ball to one another. Then when the coach yells “shot”, whoever ends up with the ball has to shoot it. Then everyone else boxes out and tries to get the rebound. Bull in the ring is when everyone is in a circle and the coach shoots the ball, and the players have to try and get the rebound and make the point before the time runs out. 

The players have been practicing hard to win games. Even with the bad times, the team has made many good plays. All the players have been glad to join the team and have gotten better throughout the year. The coach has helped the players achieve their goals and the team has been an inspiration for younger teams. Also the players have been playing in one team and been pushing themselves so they are able to win games.
