The new season of the TV show Wednesday has reached number one on Netflix in numerous countries. Starring Jenna Ortega, who plays the main character Wednesday Addams, and Emma Myers who portrays the role of Enid Sinclair, Wednesday’s roommate. The first season of Wednesday aired in 2022, and Season 2 was released on August 6th, 2025. The second season of this series has introduced some new characters, including Agnes DeMillie, an admirer of Wednesday Addams, and Bruno Yuson, Enid’s new boyfriend. Wednesday shows how each person has their own quirks and differences and how everyone is an “outcast” in their own way.
The series mixes supernatural powers with action such as Werewolves, Hydes, invisibility, shapeshifters, and psychic visions, dark humor, cliff hangers, and slight gore. This show is great for people who like horror movies; but not jump scares. The show Wednesday was based on The Addams family and the Charles Addams cartoons. In order to understand the plot of Wednesday season 2, viewers are encouraged to watch the first season of Wednesday.
Viewers loved the show, with a rating of 8.0 stars on Netflix. Many viewers loved how every character had a deeper backstory rather than just a surface-level appearance and personality, but others found the many backstories confusing and unimportant to the main plot. While people found the show underwhelming, others found the series action-packed and over simulating. By the end of the season many feuds between characters were left unresolved with cliffhangers leading into a third season.
The third season of the show is currently in the process of being created, for Wednesday is expected to be a five season franchise. In conclusion, Wednesday is a mild horror story showing how everyone is weird in their own way, making the concept of outcasts normal instead of odd or negative. Along with some entertaining choreography, a collaboration with Lady Gaga who choreographed and made the song for the “Dead Dance” – a number between Enid, and Agnes- many elements of the show have attracted and captured the attention of audiences across the world. Overall viewers recommend this show especially with Halloween right around the corner.
