Her hands expertly fly over the piano keys as she elegantly plays a complicated sequence of notes. A beautiful harmony is created and the audience erupts with applause.

Rachel Mehail has always had a strong passion and love for music.

“I truly find music enjoyable because I can connect to it and it calms me,” Rachel explains.

She plays the clarinet in the school band and takes piano lessons as well.mRachel also loves to listen to music. She has an interesting and fun mix of styles she frequently listens to like jazz, pop, and old fashioned music.

Along with music, Rachel participates in sports. She plays on the school volleyball and basketball teams and loves the experience. Rachel also enjoys spending time with her friends, especially since she is an only child, which can feel lonely sometimes.

Rachel Mehail was born in New York but she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, around the age of 3 and has lived there ever since. She currently attends 7th grade at St. Robert School where she is a strong student and participates in many extracurricular activities.

Rachel has many great qualities that dazzle everyone around her. Her encouraging attitude and upbeat outgoing personality leaves a positive effect on everyone she meets.

Her family is a very important part of her life; she loves her family with all of her heart.

“Losing my family and friends is my biggest fear,” Rachel confesses.

Her parents are her role models and have taught her many valuable lessons that she will keep with her for the rest of her life.

“My mom has the answer to everything,” exclaims Rachel. Rachel is very determined to succeed in life but has not figured out exactly what her vocation is though she knows she always wants music to be a part of her.

Rachel Mehail was chosen to be one of the few most talented selected students to join honors band. She had the great opportunity to play the clarinet with other excelling band students around Milwaukee. She is very proud of her performance and her invitation to join honors band.

“My experience with honors band was not only one of my biggest accomplishments but the audition might have been the bravest thing I have ever done,” says Rachel.

Just recently the band played the national anthem at the Milwaukee Bucks game. This was very exciting and Rachel is proud of their outstanding performance.

Being involved with music can really adds a lot of joy and color to her life. It is a special part of Rachel’s life and the rhythm will never stop beating.
