Seventh Grade Boys Volleyball

So far in seventh grade, this volleyball season is turning out to be a great one!  The seventh grade boys volleyball team has a good record so far.  But unfortunately, there are no more regular season home games to attend and cheer on the Bobcats.

This year the boy’s team has been playing one of the more complicated offenses for seventh grade, a 6-2 offense.  A 6-2 offense is when all six players are spikers while two players are also setters.  The boys have also playing a libero, which is when a player who specializes in defense, Bennett Coffou, plays in the back row only.  They have a strong middle with Paul Laliberte, Ryan Mitchell, and Jack Hietpas, good right-side hitters in Woody Fox and Ben Schenese, and super defensive specialists in Roberto Barron and Jack Madell.

Their setters and outside hitters are best buds, Aaron Eimers and Harrison Draver. When asked how he felt about the team’s chemistry, Aaron said, “Our team works very well together.  We all have our jobs and execute very well.  On the court we may look like six different people taking up space, but really we are one big team fitting perfectly together.”

Because of this awesome team chemistry, “Our team has a lot of positive energy.  Everyone on our team is confident about the rest of the season.”  Aaron said.  As our Bobcats team hopes to bring a championship home, the players have gotten in a great competitive mindset.  As you can see, the 2013-2014 season has proven to be very fruitful and hopefully it will continue to be a spectacular season for all St. Robert’s teams.
